Annual Events

Every spring we have an early-season volunteer trail work day, followed by a celebration of the trails and a Jump Jam exhibition in the skills park.

In July, the worldwide Ragnar series comes to Mt Ascutney with teams of runners covering all our trails both day and night for an entire weekend.

In August, young mountain bikers come to race on the trails of Mt Ascutney as part of the Vermont Youth Cycling series.

On Memorial Day weekend, fans of Mt Ascutney hike up and meet at the summit for a picnic, keeping up a tradition - dating back to 1853.

In August, the Overland races come to Mt Ascutney and surrounds, with a long gravel ride on Saturday and a long trail run on Sunday.

In September, road racers climb the toll road up the mountain for the steepest grade in the BUMPS bicycle hill climb series.

In late June, the Gnar Weasels mountain bike race series has many different categories for riders of all ages. 

In September, the legendary Vermont 50 mountain bike and ultra trail run snake through nearby forest lands and finish on Ascutney trails.

In November, the Mt Ascutney Vertical Backyard tests the mettle of  participants, who climb the mountain continuously for days on end.
