Updated: Apr 16, 2022

ATA welcomes spring of 2022 with a flood of information, so we’ll keep it brief for now!

Memberships

If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to join or renew your ATA membership through VMBA. Your membership and donations play vital roles in sustaining our trail community. Non-membership donations can be made either through the VMBA site (scroll to the bottom for donations directly to ATA) as well as on our ATA donation page. A little goes a long way , and every little bit helps!

Trail Openings

All trails are still officially closed for mud season, and we’re just as anxious as you are for them to open! The MTB trail network is drying out at a good rate and our trail elves have been out and about prepping for opening day. We are hoping to be open for biking by April 23rd! The Summit-bound hiking trails in the state park are expected to open soon after that, due to the high elevation melt still in process.

Events

Ascutney Day is back! Saturday May 28th 10am-2pm

ATA volunteers will be at the top of the mountain at the old Stone Hut site to celebrate the 54th Annual Ascutney Day. Make your way to the stone hut via the trail of your choice and join us for refreshments at the top. Read more on our ATA Events Page.

The Vermont Overland is hosting a trail run event for Spring 2022,and are donating a portion of their proceeds to ATA. On Memorial Day weekend they'll have a vendor expo on Sunday and race on Monday. Check out their event site to join the fun or help them out if you can.

ATA awarded VOREC Grant for Flow Trail & Skills Park

If you haven’t already heard the exciting news, Ascutney Trails Association and Ascutney Outdoors partnered on a recent VOREC grant opportunity and were awarded joint funding! As a result, our ACT250 (VT land use) application for the Flow Trail and Skills Park is approved and we can schedule the project and begin construction. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and thanks again to all who helped make this dream become a reality!!!

That’s it for now - more news coming soon!
